I was here! è la mostra allo SmArt Bartolini dove l’artista Wibaa, all’interno delle sale dello spazio in Via Cavallotti, presenta il suo percorso che negli ultimi anni lo hanno portato a creare opere totalmente diverse l’una dall’altra. Queste opere, apparentemente tra loro non collegate, con tecniche e materiali differenti, hanno un unico obiettivo, un destino comune: stabilire, con il minor numero possibile di elementi, un dialogo vivace con la comunità condividendo il pensiero e le riflessioni sulla società attuale e sugli eventi che l’anno contraddistinta negli ultimi anni.

I was here! is the exhibition at the SmArt Bartolini where the artist Wibaa, inside the halls of the space in Via Cavallotti, presents his path which in recent years has led him to create works that are totally different from each other. These works, apparently not connected to each other, with different techniques and materials, have a single objective, a common destiny: to establish, with the smallest possible number of elements, a lively dialogue with the community by sharing thoughts and reflections on current society and on the events that marked the year in recent years.

Wibaa è nato in Italia, a Roma. Autodidatta, si è avvicinato alla pittura frequentando un corso al MoMA di New York dove ha potuto conoscere i materiali, le tecniche e gli approcci dei protagonisti della New York School tra cui De Kooning, Newman, Pollock, Ad Reinhardt e Rothko.
Il suo processo creativo si basa sulla necessità di assecondare il desiderio di condividere sulla tela il suo pensiero, la sua idea. Wibaa compie un lungo viaggio interiore al fine di definire il suo punto di vista. Quindi, cerca colori, materiali e stile per trasferire le sue emozioni ed avviare un dialogo con la società contemporanea.
Wibaa dipinge in modo intuitivo utilizzando una varietà di strumenti come pennelli, spatole, spugne e persino le sue mani. Predilige i colori acrilici e ad olio, mescolandoli con vari altri liquidi. Non disdegna smalti, spray e guaine.

Wibaa was born in Italy, in Rome. Self-taught, he approached painting by attending a course at the MoMA in New York where he was able to learn about the materials, techniques and approaches of the protagonists of the New York School including De Kooning, Newman, Pollock, Ad Reinhardt and Rothko.
His creative process is based on the need to indulge the desire to share his thought, his idea on the canvas. Wibaa makes a long inner journey in order to define his point of view. Therefore, look for colors, materials and style to convey his emotions and start a dialogue with contemporary society.
Wibaa paints intuitively using a variety of tools such as brushes, palette knives, sponges and even his hands. He favors acrylic and oil paints, mixing them with various other liquids. It does not disdain nail polishes, sprays and sheaths.
